I've been online a lot lately. I've found new blogs to read. And I've figured out some things.
First I ran into her at Still His Girl. It was her anniversary; she wrote about him -and he wrote about her on Honey I Fed The Kids. Sweet, sweet posts about their 14th anniversary.
As I browsed his site, I found this post about redesigning a blog.
If you've visited my blog for any length of time, you already know that I like to change things up. I haven't left my design the same way very long...I like to change with the seasons/holidays/mood...maybe it drives you crazy, I don't know. I just know that I want my site to be pretty.
When I found the aforementioned post, I got really excited!!! It introduced me to Blogger Buster and Squidfingers. I found myself on a mission!!
I did a lot of reading on Blogger Buster. I found step-by-step instructions for fiddling with HTML in this post. I had very limited knowledge of HTML before I found this info...this was like 'HTML for Dummies'. I started with a new Blogger template. I read about how to widen the columns, so I did that. I checked out the background patterns offered at Squidfingers and used the information from Blogger Buster to add my new background. I also found great information about creating a new header, customizing it to link back to your 'home' page and how to install it.
I created a monster (and a killer headache)!! I couldn't quit monkeying with it until I got it done and it was done right.
Somewhere in there it says you could have your new look in as little as an hour. Bah!! It took me all stinkin' day!! I'm so very proud of my new little page...and I did it!!
Maybe I'll be content for a while...we shall see.

Thanks for these links. I am going to check out this info. I have often thought that I would like to expand my columns or maybe even add a third but I have no clue about HTML...it scares me!

Great job. I didn't see it before today, but I'll assume it was all just scribbles on post-its or grey on grey or something.
But now...you deserve to celebrate.
I like the new look! If you will recall, I tried to give myself a new look not so long ago but I wasn't near as successful as you have been. Maybe I'll try again another day.
