Sometimes, my brain is faster than my mouth and things just don't come out right. I feel as though it's normal for me to twist up my words or to swap the first letter of two words.
Like:
I buess I getter...get off the phone now.
We must get the dog something for...teas and flicks.
Something about Daryn and Can...when their names are Caryn and Dan.
Also, there are a few words that I have trouble pronouncing. I'm not sure why. I have a hard time with corduroy, the name Roy and the name Rory.
I once worked at Celebration Station and had a manager named Rory. It was a mess when I had to page him over the intercom system. Absolutely shameful.
I get no sympathy from my husband.
He wanted to name our son Roy.
What's your problem?

Your husband sounds like mine. That is something he would want to do.
I can not roll my "r"'s and my husband can not understand that. He also makes fun of me because I can not whistle either.
Oh yes, absolutely. I struggle with that one all the time--especially when tired or distracted. I also have a mild stutter--when I am talking I often "lose" words and stand there trying to come up with it until I come up with several substitutes to replace it. My family treats it like a game.
It must be something about R's because I have the worst time trying to pronounce "rural".
Funny..you never seem to have any problem with the words..geek...dork or keeg.. :-)
I think as women our brain MUST work in overdrive at all times. How else would we succesfully run a household. In that our speech at times sounds like a train wreck. Jumbled!
There has to be a link!
I do that all the time... I also mess up typing or leave out words my brain works faster than my fingers...
Thanks for stopping by my blog...
I don't have so much problem pronouncing words (while I have a few I'm sure) - I have more of a problem remembering words - coming up with the word I need when I need it. It's hard - isn't it? This language thing? Have a good weekend - Kellan
I do that Tackwards Balk think all the time. ;) But my biggest problem is my short term memory. I will walk into a room to do something, but by the time I get there I have forgotten my purpose.
Anyway, I'm glad you'll named him Evan instead of Roy....ha!
Hi Tina - thanks for coming by today. I hope you are having a good weekend - see you soon. Kellan
I forget words -- all the time! In the middle of a sentence, I have to stop and say, "Wait. I have to think of the word." I do the switching thing too, occasionally, but mostly I just forget!
