Celebrate With Me!!

Guess what I did Friday?!?!!

I managed to do two scrapbook pages. I haven't done any since, I think, August. So that was really good!!

But more importantly...

I paid off my van!!!

The same day it reached the 150k mark.

We've had it just a week longer than we've had our son. While I was pregnant, I was hauling my whale-sized self up into my husband's Dodge Ram because he didn't want Ella and me driving around in my little Ford Escort. I soon realized that with two babies in the back of the Quad cab I wouldn't have room for groceries or the hundreds of things you have to pack when you travel with children. I prayed for a van. I know, I know. Some people just aren't 'van people', but I always knew I would drive a van after I had kids...at least while they're little.

I had no idea how we'd be able to afford a van on one income; we also had a truck payment. We looked into trading in the truck, but we just couldn't find a good deal.

One Sunday night, we drove onto our church's parking lot and there was 'my' van with a For Sale sign in the window. Tell me that God didn't provide my van! It had 113k miles on it, but when we learned who owned it, we knew that it was well cared for. Clean, clean, clean!!

I love my little van.

Maybe I should show it some love and wash it. (adding that to the to-do list)

This could be the year. The year where we become debt-free with the exception of our mortgage.

We've made the first step...

Feels so good.

♥ Good for you guys! That's awesome and our goal too. When Joe gets done with school we'll be desperately trying to pay off all of our bills! Such a stress to be in debt. :)

WooHoo! Did you do a dance? We are planning to pay ours off in the next couple of months too. Then we will be completely debt free (except for the mortgage). Then we will quilify to be a friday caller on the Dave Ramsey show and scream "We're Debt Free" and hear the Braveheart yell "Freeeedommm". If you know who Dave is this makes complete sense to you. If not, nevermind.
As one who knows the pinch of debt, from me to you, congratulations. It's so worth it.

Way to Go!!! I remember when we paid off our vehicles, such a blessing and and a feeling of FREEDOM! Now you have to go out and celebrate this stepping stone in this path of financial freedom.

Scrapbooking. I haven't heard this word in ages. Just think, about five years ago, I used to scrap almost everyday and now I haven't done one page in over a year. Good for you!

It's awesome to get the nagging, little (or big) car payment off your back! We did a Financial Peace University class (Dave Ramsey) and were able to get ourselves under control financially and now only have a mortgage! It is soooo freeing to be in control of our money instead of having it control us!
