Someone Interrupted Our Plans

Ella's birthday is next week. We picked the date for her Pony party back in November, although we didn't finalize the time until last week. The risk you take when planning an outdoor party is, of course, the weather. I don't know about your area, but around here, the weather can change at the drop of a hat. Last Saturday, we had sunshine and the high was nearly 80. Perfect party weather. Would we be so blessed with good weather today? Not so much. After that beautiful day, the forecast showed a steady drop in the temps and the threat of snow quickly surfaced.

I held out on canceling the party for as long as possible. Usually when they predict snow, we don't get any. Guess there is an exception to just about every rule.

There was no birthday party today...only snowball fights and bites...and a snowman with one gimpy arm, big bug eyes, an ice cream cone nose and sunflower seeds serving as 'redneck' teeth.

Move over, Picasso. We've got you art right here. Who knew you could design a goofy face by throwing snowballs at your house??

The temps should be near 60 on Monday...we're shooting to have the party Monday. Until then, we're enjoying a family day: playing in the snow, playing our Wii and watching Tiger Basketball. Go Tigers!

ah yes... My birthday plans were canceled for today, as well, due to our blizzard (we're up to about 15 inches)! I feel your pain Ella! I however was not planning on having ponies! What a lucky little miss! :) Happy early Birthday, Ella!

Great pics! Mine will be posted before the day is out...

The snow is already almost completely melted. It was fun while it lasted. Sorry it messed up your party plans, though...

Talk to you soon! Yvette

Well, at least you CAN plan outdoor parties in the winter--around here the warmest we get is a very muddy 65. :) And now it is snowing again. :)

Being a March birthday myself, I learned a long time ago not to plan outdoor festivities for the event. I have a son with a March birthday. We are going bowling this weekend.
