We have proof!

Ella has been attending dance classes since January. She's a rather quick learner, and when the mood is right, she's a pretty good dancer.

Her first recital is tomorrow. Part of preparing for the recital/end of year is taking pictures in your recital costume.

She loves her costume. She loves dancing around the house.

But actually going to dance class, not so much.

I spent an hour curling her hair for picture day. And she cooperated. But she did ask several times if we were finished. And she said several times that she was ready to go take pictures.

We finished her hair and changed into her costume.

We get to the dance studio for pictures.

AND SHE FLIPPED OUT!

I am beside myself in anger. A friend of mine had to rescue her. Seriously, I couldn't even look at her because I thought the glare from my eyeballs may stab her in the knee caps.

It. Was. Bad.

So now we have the proofs back.

Oh yea. I scanned them just for you. Why wouldn't I?? You simply must see them...

Proof. That's right. Proof of the day that THAT child was horrible**. Oh, you may not see it. Somehow the photographer managed to get these four shots of her not screaming with tears streaming down her grouchy little face. But I'm not kidding. It was insane!

In all honesty, I LOVE the last picture. It's my favorite. I think it would be adorable in Black & White...she'd look like a sad Shirley Temple.

Sigh.

There is no telling how she will do at the recital.

Think of us on Saturday. Throw up some prayers. (well, don't throw up, just pray, cool?)

**ok, so to my close friends I've been saying that we have proof of the day that she was a jerk...and they understand that I don't really call my kids jerks...it was a feeling at the moment. Don't tell me you don't have those moments!**

I love how we all have to "clarify" what we really said and then say you know you do also. hehe that always makes me smile when I read someone doing that. Because we all do. Those first two made me feel for ya. AND that last one she does kind of look like shirly temple. They do not even look like her, since I dont really know her, only from her pictures, she is generally so smiley in her pics, so this just doesnt look like her to me. But so fun to keep for years to come. THAT DAY!

It is these moments that we shall miss one day, momma! I mean you will.. because I never will. *big smile*

I'd like to say it gets easier when they age.. but the words just get bigger, in reality.

The pictures are adorable. I love them. I wish I had captured more of their attitudes, back when mine were little, so I could use them as blackmail now. :)

I thought I was the only parent that had to deal with the I want to learn this or that...but actually going and participating- I'd rather pull my own teeth out! Right now I'm saying that it must be a girl thing because I have no trouble with Joshua. We'll see.
She so looks like Shirley Temple! Adorable- you could get rich off that picture!

OH MY GOODNESS!!!! Tell that stinker she better pull herself up by her bootstraps on Saturday and dance, momma has spent way too much money for her to not dance!!!

We will be praying!

I think we all have those moments when we want to strangle our children. Pics are still precious.

That is so awful and funny! I feel for you--sadly I WAS that kid.:) And my first ballet costume looked EXACTLY like that but with a HUGE flouncy hat as well. I still had it till my kids used it for dress up and destroyed it.:)

The pics are great. And one day you'll look back and really remember, and laugh. I have one pic of the kids visit with Santa. Alex is sitting in his lap, content. Marlee is screaming and trying to get down. Sam is asleep.
And another picture of just a few years ago. Easter. The kids are in their sunday clothes. It's a pretty day. Alex and Marlee are posing nice. Sam has his back to the camera and has his arms crossed. He was not about to have his picture taken. Instead of making him "turn around and behave" I took the picture. It's one of my favorites. It's the real kid, you know.

Okay, being the one on this side of those pictures, I have to say...
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!
Okay, got it out of my system.
I love pictures of non-smiling kids! You see their eyes better.
And those ones are fabulous, Dah-ling!

OH! You wouldn't be able to tell she was a screaming kicking child by those pictures...just a little moody maybe.

I've been there, done that, refuse to go to portrait studios's because of it!

I WILL be praying for Saturday. All the time, energy, and money her Momma has put in.........that girl WILL dance even if God is pulling her by her hands to do it! I mean, that would be the best way, right?

That last one is PRICELESS!!!!! Never let her forget that day -- especially when she has here on daughter. :)

I love the look in her eyes in the third one. It's like "if you take another pictures of me I may just have to hurt you!"

Just think how hard you will be laughing together when you look at these pictures 20 years from now...

Oh yeah, I have those moments. Most of them revolve around thinking my children (our youngest is 9) are babies. When I tell them they are ACTING like a baby, I have to explain that that is different from me calling THEM a baby. Even as I'm saying it, I don't totally understand myself!

The last one is great, but the second one cracks me up...it's like she's saying, "Here, take this dumb flower." ;) You're going to enjoy showing those to her boyfriend someday. hee!
