Girls Gone Wild - Rated G

Ella and I were invited to go out for Girls' Night with my friend C. and her daughter Miss M.

Miss M and Ella were born six weeks apart. They have been friends longer than they can remember...but they have had an intense love/hate relationship over the past few years. C. and I wanted them to be the best of friends, but there came a time when we 'cooled' their friendship because it stressed us out to have them together. They just could not play well together.

Oh thank goodness, lately, things have greatly improved. There's not as much fighting between the two of them. They have the best imaginations and can play, play, play.

Maybe things have gotten better with age.

We went out to dinner...mmm...Chili's!

Notice the dresses. They must wear dresses. It's a requirement. And do not tell them that there's not one clean. Watch. Out. (We get quite a few hand-me-down clothes for Ella...but I haven't seen any dresses in her size come our way. If you have some, or know of some, we will gladly accept.)

After dinner, the mommies got treats from Starbucks, which we sipped while the girls played at the playground in the mall. It was so nice to have some grown-up conversation with my dear friend.

Everything was wonderful until that blasted mall had the nerve to close at 9pm. I suppose they've never heard of night-owls. There's something for the Suggestion Box.

Not wanting to end our girls' night, we decided to go to Barnes and Noble. Ah! They are open until 11pm. Ok, you're thinking, 'Get those sweet girls home to bed you crazy ladies!'

There are times to break the rules. Do something different. Live a little. And have fun with two little princesses.

I can assure you that they didn't mind.

Exhibit A

B&N has a wonderful children's section. Not only are there books galore, there are toys...toys that encouraged those imaginations I previously mentioned.

Exhibit B

Something is missing. Where could it all have gone? Hmmm...inquiring minds...

Exhibit C

Oh there they are. This, my friends, is the pet shop. They have puppies, kittens, horses, pigs, sheep and llamas. It's very eclectic.

Exhibit D

Just when you think that they should be too tired to blink, two little monkeys crawled under the table. They didn't think I saw them. They were going to surprise me. But no...I saw them, I turned to dig my camera out of my purse and snapped a picture before they knew what I knew.

Giggles were flowing.

It was an awesome night.

And nights like this need to happen more often.

Too funny!

Claire HAS to wear dresses as well, and to be honest I find I do less laundry because one dress just seems easier than pieces. We have been in only dresses for about 8 months now, Kohls ALWAYS has some for cheap as does Target......I know because we now are proud owners of a at least 23 dresses!

Do learn to make a pillow case dress so you can teach the rest of us!

ok, you don't have to publish this, what size is Ella in? I have been given a lot of clothing lately for the girls, and well, with 6 people in 1 house, each is only alloted so much closet space. (and my sanity can only do so many loads of laundry) I am always searching for boys clothing as Joshua is tall and skinny & Matthew a small chunk.

Yep, I too am waiting to hear the size of dress. That looks like you had lots of fun. I wish I would have been better with my girls when they were young. I was too 'stuffy'. Enjoy!
