What a Beachy day!!

Our late afternoon trip to the beach was wonderful!

It wasn't scorching hot like it has been previously. The beach is not hubby's favorite place to be...but it's because it's usually so stinkin' hot that you can't help but sweat and that gives the sand one more reason to stick in all your crevices. He wasn't miserable; that was a bonus.

The water was perfect. The kids weren't chicken. Wave jumpin' was a blast! I took a few minutes to myself out in the water. I felt like I was about 12 again...who doesn't get tickled when a wave wipes you out?? I had so much fun.

When she got used to the water and the waves, Ella had a great time. She hopped over a few waves on her own and collected a lot of shells. She was really tuckered out by the time we left.

I think Evan shares my love of the water. I carried him into the ocean, and we jumped waves together. He laughed continuously. Even when he was hit right in the face with icky salt water...he'd wipe his little eyes and wait for more. He just surprised me...not one time did he whine about the water.
He'd say: 'There's a big one!'
I'd say: 'This is fun, huh?'
He'd say: 'It's the best ever, mom!'
I'd say: 'I love you'
He'd say: 'I love you, too, Mom...Happy Mother's Day!'
I love that boy! I love that he has no idea that Mother's Day was only one day. Melts my heart!

And, there's a pretty good reason that we should never live near the ocean.

I would totally put the kids in Mother's Day Out just so I could go to the beach and hang out all day...twice a week. Oh yea, I love it.

My thighs haven't seen that much sunlight in years. And I didn't get 'lobster-fied'.
And...ok, I'll just say it.
Yes, there are a few chicks on the beach who can make you want to hide your not-so-thin-pasty-white-self under the nearest beach umbrella...and towel...and ok, shoot, put your clothes back on...
...but I dare say there are far more chicks that make you feel a whole lot better about yourself.
Except that I really should find a swimsuit that doesn't ride up.

Is there such a thing?

No, there is no such thing as a bathing suit that doesn't ride up! LOL

So glad you enjoyed the beach. I'm with you on that one.. I've been asking hubby to move to Charleston, SC (he has an office there) just so we could be near the beach.. MDO baby!!

Hey girl,
Seems like forever since I've blogged. I enjoyed getting caught up on all your happenings. I can't believe you're at the beach, (sigh). I am almost positive the beach is the most peaceful place on earth.
Ya'll have fun and try not to cook. See at the Y soon.

Not sure about that bathing suit thing.....I haven't worn one of those in years - it's way too scary!!

I'm so glad you guys had such a fun time - that little Evan is such a dare devil ;)

We just got back from the beach...tonight, in fact! We were in Destin from Monday through today. You're right...wave jumping is fun!! Emmerson had a blast, but more so in the pool than in the ocean. We did see a shark. They made everyone get out of the water. It was soo cool and Steve got it on video. Glad you're having fun! When do you come back?

I love that your son wished you a Happy Mother's Day. That's adorable.

And if you find that swimsuit that doesn't ride up, let me know.

I only notice the hot chicks that make me feel like a white whale. What does that say about me? I'm glad you had such a good time!

ok, If you are at the beach, why are you not stopping to see your friends in East TN or as Some unnamed person calls it Hickville?
