We've taken our house off the market...and we're really ok with it. We don't have a 'bad' house, we were just ready for our 'grown up' house. Something that will reflect how our tastes have changed.
I mentioned to hubs that I'd like to change the living room. The carpet was horrid. Stained. Trampled. Old.
He agreed and off to Lowe's we went!!
Friday night, we spent about two hours clearing the room and ripping out the carpet...disgusting! I actually took pictures of what all I found under our sofa and all the dirt we found under the carpet...but me thinks I'd be a little too embarrassed to show the
The makeover is not complete...we still have some trimming to do...and we still have one part of our sectional (that we're separating, yay!) in the garage, but I just can not wait to show you how beautiful it is already!!
Here you go:
Red Cherry (laminate) wood flooring! An area rug I am in love with! Chocolate panels for the windows! Sigh. Mmm, I love it!
This room is going to look and feel so much larger. We are breaking up the sectional...the longest section will go over in front of the window, but you can see the 'loveseat' (sleeper) section in this picture. I want to get an ottoman to go right out in front of this piece...oh so comfy.
I promise to have a complete 'before and after post', but I just had to share my joy!

Very grownup!!! This is great!!! Take one room at a time and do this and you will love the entire house!
Beautiful Floor!!! I LOVE our laminet flooring, very easy to clean (and I think it has a cool sound to it! :))
It does look beautiful! I love the paint color on the walls too!
And the chocolate panels and rug are...yummy!
Your new fall blog look is awesome as well.....You have great taste I must say.
Sigh.:)
Holy Moly that looks fantastic!!! I wouldn't be able to contain my excitement either! Just gorgeous Tina!
We just finish doing the same thing to our floors in the living and dining rooms, we are still looking (or disagreeing) about furniture so that will be added as soon as we can agree (or I get my way :)
Love the room, very nice! And the orange is cool also.
It looks AMAZING! You have taste like me girlfriend! Except our living room doesn't reflect that.
I feel like such a bad friend, but I haven't been over to see your new layout and it looks Mawvalous Dawling! Just Mawvalous!
That is awesome! Now that we have no couch in the living room hubby has agreed to redoing it, including painting and laminate flooring! I showed him your post (he was scared that laminate would be hard even though both sides of the family have all put it down with no trouble.) It looks beautiful--sadly we will have to go with the rather cheaper light colored flooring.
beautiful! just beautiful
Love it, love it, love it. Love the rug. Love the paint color. Love the bright and brilliant white trim.
I'm jealous. I want to do a makeover but I'm in the midst of selling my home...God willing. I guess that's one reason I'm excited to move...new home, new walls to paint, new yard to landscape.
Red cherry is my FAVVVORITE!! So beautiful!
Wow - looks great!
LOVE IT!!!! I wish I could just do that and be good with not moving!! :) I am super jealous -- that was easier than moving!!
I heard what a good job you had done. Thanks for letting us see!

WOW!!! This looks great. Maybe you and Donald can come to my house and lay some flooring. haha
Nice job!! I like it and the room does look larger!! So what's next on your house to do list?
That is gorgeous!
Wow, I LOVE it! Very nice job. And I love the new look of your blog too! =)
Very nice flooring! Funny that I'm just reading this because we've been talking about getting hardwood floors also. Between our dog and Emmerson, the carpet is so nasty! Steve actually measured the living room earlier tonight.
I like the rug too. Very cute...looks like something I'd pick out. :) That wall color is about the same as ours. You know how we like brown. hehe
Oh, I like the new fall look on your blog. Totally you.
