Is it just me...

...or does this time of year make you feel like cleaning everything out of every nook and cranny in your house??

It's a time for new beginnings, right?

I am ready to go room by room and de-clutter. Purge everything that we never use.

Two years ago, hubs and I got in the attic (and didn't fall through) to clean things out. It felt amazing to get rid of all the stuff and junk that we haven't touched in, oh say, the eight years we've been married. I keep tabs on the condition of the attic better than the drawer I keep my skivvies in.

I'm not sure when this project will commence...I have several other things on my list to take care of.

The sanding/repainting of that armoire.

Which will lead to the reorganization of the girl's closet and bedroom.

The organization of my scrapbook stuff. I need a little more order to that chaos. I'm years...YEARS behind...but I may have a plan. I may try to print pictures each month for the three previous years of that month. For example, this month I should print January of '06, '07 and '08...and scrap them. I do believe that I will have to limit what gets scrapped, though. Not so many pages of a particular event. I'll do enough to document the happenings and move on. Somehow I think this is the only chance I have at ever catching up. We'll see how it goes.

Get things in order to put the house back on the market. This will be easier after I take care of that room by room purging deal.

Lots going on. Life never slows down.

Tell me what you have going on!

Yes, this is a wonderful time of year for de-cluttering and purging. That's exactly what I'm up to too. It feels so nice!

I love your scrapbooking plan, great idea!

I know how you feel. Just taking down the Christmas stuff makes everything feel less cluttered and I think I want that for the rest of the house. I think if I had to move that would be good motivation to clean out everything! Good luck!

Getting back into the swing of school. Listening to Caleb brag about being finished with his assignments because he's getting back into the swing of school. Reprimanding Hailey for whining about Caleb bragging about being finished with his assignments because he's getting back into the swing of school.

I need to purge. We have been in this house for a year and are bludging at the seams. Time to declutter for me!

I am constantly cleaning out! May I encourage you to not just throw things away. Find someone who can use it. I have learned of a family in our community that collects stuffed animals to bless children at Christmas time. Find an agency that gives things to those who are really in need. Our community also collects used toys to offer to families at Christmas time. Churches and daycares are also interested in toys and craft supplies. Some preschools and schools use token reward systems so they will take the little treasures you collect from McDonalds and stuff like that. Recycle! Our center has a reuse store. You can drop stuff off there and people can take what they want for FREE! Okay... I will stop there!

I kinda feel like I could have written this post!

Did you see my pantry that I reorganized (yesterday's post). It felt SO good.

Last week we took out $ HUGE trash bags of stuff for donation and trash. Oh I do love de-cluttering!!

Fortunately, I'm ahead of the organizing and decluttering game this year because of the recent move into our wonderful new home. :D

Guess I'll work on writing a book or two ;)

I have definitely got the bug to go through and clean and organize. I'm trying to break it up in to manageable portions so I don't get overwhelmed. One step at a time.
