The memories we make at dinner...

We're out for dinner.

Mom to boy: Sit down.

Dad to boy: Sit down, turn around.

Mom to boy: Shh...don't be so loud.

Dad to boy: Evan, eat. (usually don't have to tell him to do this one!)

Mom to boy: Turn around and sit down.

Boy to mom:

Shut up.

Mom: (shocked)

Dad: Did you just say....

Mom: He did. Take him.

Dad: (grabs boy, stands him up)

Boy: Are you gonna fire me up???

Mom: (turns head for fear of being busted laughing)

oh my. . . i hate it when you have to discipline kids when they really don't quite understand how cheeky they're being. or they know, but don't understand the boundaries they've crossed.
that probably won't be the last time you discipline while biting your lip to keep from laughing. how sweet that you have this for him when he grows up. moments like this (even the frustrating ones) are meant to be remembered.

Love it! It's so hard to discipline when they're so funny! Good laughs!

I think my chin hit the floor the first time a child told me to shut up (it was Rachel- hard to believe I know! :)), that of course was followed by a sore bottom- hers not mine.

Reminds me of when The Bean told T he was "so adorable" after he told her to go to sleep and stop piling toys in her bed one night. I think it's a defense mechanism God gives them to help insure their survival. That's my theory anyway!

Oh my!!! My mouth would've dropped to the floor, too! I have to deal with enough attitude at school. Not looking forward to dealing with my own. lol

k, that is seriously funny! I would have had to turn away too. These kiddos we are raising are just so adorable...even when they are not trying to be!
