Chit Chat about Selling the House

I received a call last week about the house. She simply asked how much we were asking and how many bedrooms we had. Typical inquisition. No big deal.

Monday, our doorbell rang.

She introduced herself to my husband...as I eavesdropped, I recognized her name and her voice...from the phone call last week.

"B" wanted to see when would be a good time to see the house. Hubs peers over his shoulder to me and I said, "It's a little 'lived in' right now, but if they don't mind, they can see it now."

The house was clean...just not spotless-show-ready. A few toys here and there, the laundry I was folding was on our bed and there were probably a few dishes in the sink.

They didn't care so B went to the car and got G (single mother) and A (approx 9 year old girl).

B has been babysitting for G since her oldest (19) was knee-high...so they are just about family.

We gave them a tour of the house. They seemed impressed. They liked the flooring, they liked the size of the kitchen/eat-in space...but the finished upstairs seemed to put them over the edge...especially little A.

We told them to call if they had any questions. They said the would. They said they were just beginning their search.

They called back...the very next day!!

And they brought B's grown daughter with them for another opinion. Not only that, but they talked amongst themselves about furniture placement! And, Little A said she had a dream Monday night that they lived here!! OH my goodness!

Hubs asked G how she was feeling, what she was thinking. She told him that she really likes the house...but she needs to be really sure she's making the right decision. (completely understandable)

They want to bring one more person. An important person who was too ill Tuesday to come with them. The Dad. B's husband actually, but I can only imagine that he probably seems like a father to G.

So we're waiting. Waiting for them to call asking when they can come over to bring the guy with the most influential opinion.

I'll keep you posted!

* B lives a few streets over. Her daughter lives ONE street over. So this would be uber convenient for all parties!

Wow! I'll be praying that everything works out.
And kudos to you for the house only being 'lived in' and not a huge mess they couldn't see past. (not that you'd have a messy house, or even have let them in if it was :))
