Checking In

It's been a while since I've posted...shame on me, right?

We had the 'big' yard sale...we made $500 which is fantastic. We got rid of almost everything - only two small boxes of goods left. They will make their way to Goodwill this week.

Also on the agenda this week...clean out the attic...completely. We're talking bring everything down from upstairs, stuff it in the garage and divvy it out to storage, trash and donate.

We've had our last big summer hoorah. We went to East Tennessee for two days of Dollywood fun with our best friends. We had perfect weather for both the amusement park and Splash Country. The only part of me that got fried was my scalp where my hair was parted...I'm counting my blessings. We spent two whole days...18 hours total...in the sun. Thank goodness for sunscreen!! We really had a lovely time although we were exhausted by the time we made it home last night.

We had a little bonus on the way to East TN...we were able to meet my dad and step-mom for dinner. The kids had a great time seeing Papa Tom and CeCe...we all had a great time at Cracker Barrel...love that place!

Now...we continue life. We continue waiting to hear what the closing date will be for our house. We thought for sure it would be late this week or the next, but it looks as though it will be no sooner than the middle of August. The girl child will start school on the 19th...I'm really hoping we are done with this by then.

I am so ready to be in the apartment. That will mean that there is nothing else to clean out, pack or move to storage. We'll be able to relax in the temporary space before we get our hands on the new digs.

The new digs...it's coming along nicely. They sheetrocked the entire interior and finished the ceilings last week. I suppose we're looking at touchups on the walls and possibly paint this week...it's really exciting! Having walls has really improved the 'vision' inside the house. We love it.

I'll keep you posted about things...and maybe tomorrow I'll post a few pictures of the new house!

Hope you're enjoying the last of your summer!

moving is like a dicken's novel: it was the best of times. . . it was the worst of times. . .
yuck on cleaning and purging and packing, but yay on $500 extra bucks and having less "stuff." it's crazy how it multiplies. wishing you the best as you transition, and YES we want pictures of the new house!!

I really thought that you would have closed by now. Sorry that it is not moving along. Congrats on the killer garage sale. Only two little boxes left over is amazing. And all I have gotten done since the last time I left you some comment love was a partial quilt and three unpacked toy boxes!
