I'm Proverbs-ing this month!

Thirty-one days...Thirty-one Proverbs.

It's probably the most simple way to get yourself in the Word daily...and yet, I always seem to peter out and fail.

Major confession here...I am NOT good about keeping my soul fed each day.

I'm full of excuses.

But they are just that.

Excuses.

So I'm going to give this, yet another, go.

Want to join me?

I'd love for you to share with me the plan you use to study your Bible!

Do you simply follow a Sunday School lesson book?

Are you using a 'Read Through the Year' chart?

How do you feed your soul?

I've been using a devotional by Amy Carmichael that Brian brought home from the store. I wish that I had better habits in this area. I get SO blessed when I do, and this little book has certainly been leading me to scriptures that I most needed this week.

I love studies by Elizabeth George. She really gets me digging into the word. My fav...A Woman After God's Own Heart. I need to do that one again. Right now I am struggling a bit with the reading part...but I journal my prayers to him every weekday morning. Not good at doing anything on the weekend. I have found that writing my prayers down keeps me more focused and with a quieter spirit.

I love that Proverbs idea! My mother in law is in a community Bible Study and she lets me use her notes. I use them to teach myself then our children. I have been reading the Psalms before bed and when I wake in the morning. I have learned if I am learning to teach, I dig deeper.

I am a dingbat. If there are 31 Proverbs and 31 days in October, then HELLO, that's the plan. Having said that, I'm already 2 days behind.

I do best when I am doing a study with daily lessons--currently I am doing Priscilla Shirer's "He Speaks to Me"--loving it!

I love the spiritual lessons in proverbs, and send proverbs out to my friends every day. Here is the one for today:

Sooner or later smoke and truth will find a way out into the open.
