Keep that fire burning...

Hubs and I will soon get to attend a couple's conference...aka Marriage Retreat. In the mountains. With a few great friends. It'll be a blast!!

Why do we ditch, I mean, leave our kids and travel alone from time to time?

Because...we believe that we should.

We were Tina and Donald before we became Mom & Dad. These kids are going to grow up and leave us...more than likely...and we don't want to be staring at each other someday and NOT feel like a couple. We still go on dates...just not as many as we would like...childcare ain't cheap! But little getaways here and there are refreshing.

We are a team. We need to be on the same page...a page that cannot be torn apart...by stress or children. What better way to stay connected than to get away as a couple??

If you and your spouse aren't dating or traveling, even for just one night, I want to encourage you to do so.

The kids will survive without you!

And you'll be a better parent when you return!

I totally agree. It takes some effort to get away without the kids, but it's worth it to reconnect.

I LOVE couples retreats!
That's why I think date night is so important! It doesn't have to cost a lot, just DO IT!
