My kids go together like peas and carrots...

Ella has been attending a dance camp this week. Everyday, from 9am to 12pm.

Monday, she went home with Miss M because I was working. Hubs picked her up when he got off work. Evan and I didn't see her until nearly 6pm.

Tuesday she went home with Miss M because they had so much fun on Monday and they both asked (separately). They got to play some more and then Ella went to church with her for a bit. Evan and I didn't see her until after 7pm.

Wednesday, Miss M came home with us because now they are used to being together all day...not to mention that Miss M saw our kiddie pool when she brought Ella home Tuesday night. Evan and I got Ella back at noon.

All of this time away from Ella has really been crazy for Evan.

He is not accustomed to being alone. He only knows life with Ella. He has missed her greatly while she's been away.

And he's bugged the stew out of me!

I would've never pegged him for one to be dependant on anything...other than food, of course, because we all know that that kid is hungry 24/7. But he has never been attached to anything. We didn't have horrible bouts of separation anxiety when he was a baby. He has never had any kind of lovey. He doesn't really care where he is as long as he can play...or eat.

But take his sister away...he's a different kid. Under my feet constantly. Talking my ear off in the car. He has no one else to socialize with so I get all of his attention even when he's not getting all of mine.

But it's not really just him.

I think Ella has missed him as well. The funniest thing happens when she is with her little friends. If something goes awry, she says "Evan!" instead of the right name. She can't remember a time without Evan...that's how close they are in age...19 months close. She can usually blame him for something being broken or taken away so she says his name a thousand times a day. It's such a habit that it comes out on playdates.

And she's not the only one.

The other night at Barnes and Noble, Ella and Miss M got a little loud and I said 'Ella & Evan! er M!' Even I am use to calling his name. It is super unusual to just have one of my children with me...it made me laugh out loud.

After I dropped Ella off Wednesday morning, Evan and I ran a few errands. After each stop, he would ask "Now can we go get the girls?" or "Is it time to go get the girls?" It was really cute.

When I finally told him it was time, he shouted 'Yay!' and grabbed his shoes. He was ready to see those girls.

I got them to the car, and I told Ella that Evan had missed her.

She gave him a hug and said 'Hey buddy'.

Oh. My. Goodness.

I may need a tissue...

That's VERY sweet! Not sure how mine would react to being seperated.

I also have a 24/7 little eater. Its funny how they are so use to being together every single day & its really easier when they are so one is not under your toes every second.I know the feeling! I don't think age matters (in my case), mine are 4yrs apart and do the same thing. Its truely sweet.I hope it continues for the two of us when our children are in their teens. LOL

My kids are like that--for the first few hours they are happy then they start asking when the other is coming home.

Now you'll have to start praying for Evan's playmate. It's nice to know that siblings really do love each other and don't mind expressing it.

Kids can go and do stuff like that and just make the whole day worth it!! My kids are either fighting like cats and dogs or the best of friends. Great story!!

PS Your girls night out sounds like so much fun!!!
