Plucking more than my eyebrows...

Some of you know that I'm a red head. Always have been. My hair used to be really close to the same color of my son's hair...and you would call that Orange.

I have to tell you that while I was growing up, and even not so long ago, I used to joke and say that I wouldn't have gray hair, I'd have peach hair. I thought it would be lovely, and fitting, to go from red/auburn to a lighter, sweet peach color.

And then the day came.

The day where my loving husband snatched four, FOUR, gray hairs from the top of my scalp.

Oh my heart!

Not one ounce of peach to them...they were SIL-VER!

Man.

I sort of forgot about that awful day...because hubby quit reminding me...

But yesterday, in my van, with the sunroof opened, I could see a bright silver strand waving at me in the rearview mirror.

Stink.

I plucked it out and searched for more.

I only found one other, but thought I caught a glimpse of another one.

It eluded me.

Until...hubby stood over my shoulder while I sat here typing something earlier.

NO...that's not it. He was standing behind me while I was typing AND he was rubbing my sore shoulders.

And he let out an evil chuckle.

Pluck!

He found the one I missed.

The kids are beating me at video games.

I lose my balance every other day.

And now...more gray hair.

Thirty is for the birds!

I'm right there with you. I was at work one day, went to the restroom and noticed a bright silver hair standing straight up! Not to mention it was right where I part my hair. All I kept thinking was that everybody seen it standing straight up all morning and I didn't even see it until lunch time!

Oh yeah -- I've pulled a few over the last year or two. Um, but have you seen my husband??!! He'll be totally gray by the time he's 35! Wow! Kinda like George Clooney, right? RIGHT!

I found a couple (ok maybe more than a couple!) last year too and that's when my visits to the salon became regular. Uggg. At what age do you quit dying and just let the gray take over? I don't want to find out.

I am so past a few-highlighted my hair for the first time to cover them and it did not get them all!
But I am reminded, "Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained by a righteous life." Prov. 16:31 Stick that one on your mirror!!

LOL! You're cracking me up!!

Those darn Silvers...They're like weeds, they sneak in and take over.

Mine started just like that, a few here and there. Now it seems like every day I find yet another one that wasn't there the day before and trying to find them all to pluck could be an all day process.

But don't knock the beginning of thirty because I have recently learned that the closer you get to forty, OTHER things happen to make you not care about those silvers - like astroids :(
You think I could con Sugar into going inside the store to buy me some tucks? ;)

*sigh*

Yes, but silver is so classy. I'm probably in the minority, but I always think that silver and white hair look amazing. I hope I'm silver or white when I going "gray." Of course, I'll have to stop coloring my hair to see it!

If it makes you feel any better, I've been plucking out silver strands too...with TWEEZERS. It's easier to do that way.

♥ Oh Tina, Tina, Tina!!! You've got nothin on me!!! I've been going gray since I was 18! Horrible genes from my dad! I've dyed my hair so long I didn't even know my true color until.... I stopped about 3 months ago and can I tell you HOW MUCH GRAY I have now!!! HOLY COW!!! I almost regret dyeing it for so long. It seems like over night I've gone completely gray! :)

Welcome to the dark side! Hubs dad was completely grey by 30, and hubs has him beat because he has more pepper than salt!

I say those stinking gray hairs are throwing off your balance.
