Lil Help?

Out of the BLUE...

My son has started having accidents at night. We've started limiting his drinking before bed, but really, he's still doing it. For about the past week or so.

This is so not good!

I'm completely open to suggestions, or just encouragement, from those of you who've been here.

Thanks --- and Happy Tuesday!

One of my friends was told to limit her sons milk and fruit intake, and she said that worked like a charm. My son has been having accidents, and I am such a slacker. I just stick him in a pull up.

Oh, my doctor told me that not only should they go to the bathroom before bed, but I should also wake him to go before I go to bed.

When I was little I used to have night accidents. It was because I was sleeping so soundly that I didn't wake up to go. My mom set me an alarm clock that got me up during the night. I never actually woke all the way up, just enought to be aware and make my way to the bathroom.
On another note, are you sure he doesn't have a bladder infection?

He may be getting excited or concerned about moving homes in the next week. I don't know just a thought. When Scooter was learning to make it all night, we would make him go before he went to bed and then we would stay up until around 10:30 and then go and take him out of his bed and to the potty. He would be half asleep and he would go and then we would put him back in his bed and he would go on to sleep and wake up dry! Good luck!

Get him up an hour or so after he has gone to sleep. Carry him is you have to to the potty and let him empty his bladder again. I promise he will go right back to sleep and it will work like a charm.

Sorry never been there but my first thought was what rthling said about a bladder infection. Looks like you got some great advice!! Good luck.

My first thought was anxiety. I think the move may be taking it's toll already. Maybe create a regular nighttime routine (bath, story, etc.) and continue this at the new house...of course also check with your pediatrician for any medical reasons...

I have no clue, not been there yet, but my first thoughts were like those above, anxiety or bladder infection maybe...I hope it works out for you though! Whatever you do, don't make a big deal out of it, I wet the bed until I was quite old...I won't say when....and my parents told everyone and bugged me about it, and it was horrible!!

No advice but I will say that it's probably just a phase, maybe he's anticipating the change with your move, etc. My son did the same thing and was over it in a few weeks...
