Four Point Five

I mentioned on Friday that I started working out.

I hit the awesome elliptical machine each morning for twenty sweaty minutes. Then, I met hubs at the Y twice. We'll try to meet three to four times a week, but only got it in twice last week.

Anywho.

I have a goal. I want to lose 40lbs by June.

Two years ago, hubby and I did a great job of losing weight. Then we went on a cruise and it was over for me. I got lazy again. Over the next year, I gained nearly all of my weight back.

So I'm back on it.

I must relose this weight and keep it off this time. This is ridiculous!

In 2007, I only used my old elliptical. No weights. No variety. Just the elliptical. And I loved it. It worked for me, so I was happy.

This time around, I'm trying a little variety. A stair climber. A treadmill. A stationary bike. A little weight training. Muscle burns more calories, so maybe I'll lose the weight faster this time.

This past week was the first full week of my journey. I'd lost a couple of pounds the week before, but I ate what I wanted to eat for New Year's Eve and NY Day, but I still managed to be down 1lb.

So I wanted to share that last week I lost 4.5lbs!!! My total for the year so far is 5.5lbs. I'm pleased as pudding: 60 calorie, sugar-free, Jello pudding, that is.

I've thought about hosting a weight-loss blog...and allowing other authors so we could all post about our journey in one place. You wouldn't have to give your weight, cause I'm definitely not sharing that, but we could all post our loss for the week and encourage one another.

So let me know if you have any interest in being a part of that project and I'll get it started if there's enough demand.

If you have set any such goals, I hope that you are encouraged, motivated and that you have a great week of it!!!

Happy Monday!

Hey, did you feel comfortable in your bathing suit on the cruise after you lost the weight? I ask because I might be going on a cruise next month.
Anyway, good luck with the goal, girl!

I have a private blog for better health but I want to loose 40 or so pounds also. Do you want me to add your email address so it just emails you when I update. I only update when I work out or eat right ect. Lets do it together. I have no will power these days (Thanks to B&K not letting me sleep at night) so i eat sugar to keep going.

Girl, I need me some accountability! Count me in! I've got a lot more than 40 to lose, but I think that being a part of a group to cheer each other on would be great! Keep me posted!

I've decided to do the same anyway...updating on Mondays...to keep myself motivated. So, I'd totally be it.

WOW! 5.5 lbs is excellent!! Way to go!!

Mom joined WW just last Thursday and I'm trying to piggy back off her. I haven't been writing down what I eat but I have definitely been trying to pay attention to my portion control. I need all of the accountability I can get so count me in.

Way to go! I started a weight loss thing last year and didn't lose pounds, but I lost inches. I'm ready to start up again. Count me in on the blog if you decide to start one!

Good for you, Tina! Losing weight is probably the hardest task women are ever faced with in their lives. I, personally, have given up and have come to terms with, and embraced, my plump-a-liciousness. YOU GO GIRL! Keep us posted.

Love,
Denise
